Description
Original press release of Satan is Real by The Louvin Brothers on Capitol records. This is the MONO issue T-1277 and is conservatively graded at VG/VG. The cover has nice bright colors, shows a little edge and corner wear but DOES NOT have any seam splits.
The vinyl has nice gloss, shows some spindle marks on the labels and a few hairlines and superficial scuffs. There is a light amount of background noise and the occasional pop but, NO skips. Overall it is a really nice playback if you are going to listen to it and not frame it.
That being said, this a great copy to frame. The front cover is still bright and the colors are sharp and not faded.
The labels on this copy are the 2nd press variety with the capitol logo at 12 o'clock instead of 9 o'clock. BUT, the matrix numbers in the deadwax are identical to the 1st run matrices. I can only assume there may have been a few leftover from the first run and Capitol decided to use the "new" labels from the 2nd press. Again, this is an assumption but, the matrix numbers are the definitive identification method for most all vinyl records. Make of it what you will!!
