Description

An original 1st issue of "Da Capo" on the UK Elektra label from 1967. Matrix A1/B1. Please note it is possible to find 'day of release' copies with no mention of 'Polydor' at the foot of the label - but Polydor moved in quickly after 1st release and took over distribution. Also note that the text employed on the label is still black and has not moved onto silver. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original heavy-card mono cover printed in the USA [as per all UK 1st issues]. Also included is the original generic white 'patents applied for' - correct for 1967. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Wow, these early Love copies really do sound great on early Elektra - you just can't quite imagine any other copies delivery the audio this way. Has only seen relatively use and you only need to listen to the audio briefly to understand that this is a particularly well preserved copy. Please note that on side 2 there are a couple of radial superficial marks - now I have tested these passages thoroughly they have absolutely ZERO effect whatsoever on the audio. This pressing is heavy, which certainly helps, but they are clearly very superficial. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+  level of playback. No kidding..this copy plays G-R-E-A-T..the audio is dreamy you will not beat it! All the way through just CLEAN audio and as everyone knows..LOVE is going to have to be played on a clean copy otherwise it's game-over! Interference is pretty much non-existent. I'll do my usual catch-all..you may detect a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments.
Cover (Ex-) I don't imagine many original '67 copies are looking this sweet by this point in time. Clearly the heavy-duty card has certainly helped. The front is in really impressive condition with almost no signs of surface wear - just a couple of surface-level minor creases. The rear has escaped the wort ravages of the ageing process - just some light tanning which is almost unavoidable on these copies. Edge wear is very light for this title - no issues at all. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. Not bad at all!!
Inner (Ex-) No markings and little ageing. No splits!
