Magic Box

Rare OZ LP released in 1967 on the Blue W&G Label. Cat. WG26/S/5127. In 1965 three members of the Red Onions Ian Clyne (keyboards), Kim Lynch (bass) and Gerry Humphries (vocals, clarinet) joined forces with guitarist Rob Lovett and drummer Gavin Anderson from fellow jazz/blues stalwarts, the Wild Cherries to form Loved Ones. This was their only studio album. Fantastic R&B/Psyche tinged garage monster by wild Melbourne based band with charismatic front man Jerry Humphreys. Excellent hammond organ, harmonica and garage guitar and powerful unique vocals. Features the stunning garage masterpiece "The loved one" later covered by Inxs.

Tracks are: The magic box, Shake rattle & roll, More than love, Ever lovin' man, Blueberry hill, Love song, A love like ours, The woman I love, I want you to love me, The lovely car, Sad dark eyes, The loved one.

Record has some light scuff marks and a few very light scratches. There is some light crackles through parts. Side two track one about a third of the way through there is a tiny mark that produces three light clicks. Record plays in VG+ condition. Cover has light ring wear and the beginnings of a tiny seam split on top centre edge. Cover is in VG++ condition.
