What a great blues rock record by this often great, but inconsistent outfit! But though their output is inconsistent, the quality of mat'l on this album certainly is not. Here we have some excellent, prog. influenced blues rock with extended guitar jams, some elec. violin, and a nice diversity of material with imaginative songwriting. The album starts off with arguably the best cut, but doesn't really waver much after that. The hard rocking "if I could keep from laughing" is quickly followed by the innovative Native American "Medicine Weasel" flavored. I would have to say, this is clearly my favorite JDBB album.
