They released their eponymous album in November 1969. Although underrated in times of release till today this album is definitely OneofThe many gemsofTheUK underground in The late sixties, early seventies. It's A brilliant guitar-based Psychedelic album filled with hypnotizingly melodic yet dynamic songs, with great memorable riffs and solos all over. As One critic wrote “It's got TheHEAVY , It`s gotThe light, It's gotThe blues, it's gotThe psyche and it's uninhibited allThe way! Although all 9 titles are great, A highlight is TheofTheCREATION track “MakingTime ". Their Eponymous Album was released in November 1969, and they were an evolution of PURPLEHAZE whosePsychedelic Nuances created great interestFrom their conception in early 1968. PURPLE HAZE were A highly respected three piece outfit formed originally performing covers ofFrom bands likeThe Who,CREATION ,TOMORROW etc but quickly developingA style and presentationof their own. To avoid association with Jimi Hendrix's PURPLE HAZEThe name was changedToLITTLE FREE ROCKFromThe meaningof their names. Paul means 'Little', Frank means 'Free' and Peter The 'Rock'.

LITTLE FREE ROCK went On ToThe Rolling Stones atThe 1969 Hyde ParkConcert in sympathyFORThe Devil has created much interest. Drummers who appeared From TimeToTo included Gaspar Lawal (Ginger Baker's Airforce), Remi Salaka (Rolling Stones), Speedy Aquay (Georgie Fame andTheBLUE Flames), Lofty and Mac Tonto (Osibisa), and 'Lord' Eric Carboo. On One occasion at The Chalk Farm Roundhouse there were 26 African Drummers and A Witchdoctor.

The band performed regularly at The Roundhouse Sundaynight 'Implosion' Events and had numerous residencies atThe Wardour Street Marquee Club. As well as performing all over Belgium, Continental Trips included The Star Club in Hamburg, EssenDE la Costa in Italy.

CBS and Warner Brothers were becoming exceedingly interested in this new Afro Rock but only six weeks after The release OnThe LFR album, Transatlantic started Breachof Contract proceedings. When CBS and Warner Brothers heard this they backed off, however, CBSTheband was too much like Santana, whom they already represented. Unfortunately, LFR were then unable To record FORFOR that matter, which was sad asThe original contract whatFOR 6 albums overA three year period.

Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac) joined ThebandFORA short period, with gigs arranged atThe Marquee andThe Lyceum, and invited LFRTo perform On sessionsFORHIS Solo album. Sadly, after only One gig at AThenight Angel Club in Soho, Peter decided that he was having too much hassle with Ginger Johnson about feesFORThe recording and he backed out.
