Lp/ TOUCHE’ RECORDS: Rare Jazz, Spoken Word, Poetry. WILD!!!!!!!!!!

Les Oublies de Jazz Ensemble [psuedonym]; playing “ That Nigger Music”; featuring William “smiley” Winters. Touche’ Records album 101 stereo. This is a 1973 record with some great playing and some wild and controversal spoken word. Side 1 starts off with a woman with a heavy French accent introducing the record and talking about Jazz as ‘N*****R’ music and how you have to play it, with some great modern, swinging playing in the background. Next it gets really crazy. A woman who sounds like a militant black panther starts going off about are you gonna play, or you gonna kiss whitey’s ass, and on and on, using every cliche’ about Blacks in the book and then some. This segmant has great avant-garde swinging stuff going on while she goes off. There’s an instrumental after that. Side 2 has some more great Jazz and later a male reads a poem and talks about Jazz being ‘N*****R’ music. This album has to be heard to be believed. Top notch playing esp. the drums and horns. The credits on the back are a trip too. The musician’s include....Ray Drummond/ Bass; Sonny “huey’ Simmons/ alto and tenor sax; William ‘smiley’ Winters Sr./ Drums; Barbara Donald/ Trumpet; Edwin’big ed’ Kelly/ keys; Melvin Simmons/ bass; C.L.Jones/ Tenor sax; Edward’ sonny’ Lewis/ Sax and flute; Jules Rowell/Trombone; Marie Braure/ speaking intro; Sugar Bee/ second spoken part, and the most outrageous. Other credits include Recording Engineer/ name withheld by request; Recorded at/ name withheld by request; Remix Eng./ same Mother F*******R. Produced by James (Black Obnoxious Scoundral) Bronson Jr. and Elizabeth (Miss Bett) Bronson.....Made in 1973 in El Cerrito, California...........I kid you not, this album takes you on a WILD, WILD ride, hold on tight......Nice artwork on both sides of cover too. Cover is VG, wear and tears around the edges. Record VG, some scratches and scuffs, but it plays fine....... I’m pretty sure there wasn’t many of these made......................
