The Lubbock Conquerors Quartet 12" 78 Take A Moment And Live b/w I'm Glad I Never Turned Him Down
Previously unissued takes recorded on June 16, 1950 include a false start when the group stopped and had to start over again. National Recording Studio acetate on Red Wax
The numbers on sleeve are OP 101-102 Company file notes say press some for local release in Lubbock, but they may not have done so. Amazing white gospel quartet four part harmony with a bass singer with a wonderful female member. This group has light piano accompaniment and at times singing acappella. They were so great they didn't need any music! This is probably the only time this has been offered, and I'm sure it's too rare to be on Youtube.
The acetate is in VG+++/Mint- condition.
This 78 must have stood in 4 Star studio warehouse untouched and unplayed for over 70 years.
