Description
I have only played this once. I bought it from a record dealer, and it looked as if it had never been played. It is in brilliant condition.
This rare LP contains Jimmy Page's recordings that were supposed to be used for the soundtrack of Kenneth Anger's underground classic movie "Lucifer Rising". Anger and Page had met at an Sotheby´s auction for Crowley memorabilia in 1972 and after that meeting Page was asked to do the soundtrack for Anger´s occult film "Lucifer Rising" which wasn´t finished at this time. Page agreed and recorded this haunting music in November 1973 at Aleister Crowley´s house Boleskine in Scotland using guitars, drums and a synthesizer.?Anger wasn´t very satisfied with Page´s work but he still edited a 25-minute version of his movie which was shown only two or three times. Some time later Anger and Page had a big fall-out and Page´s music wasn´t used anymore. In 1977 Anger commissioned Bobby Beausoleil – an ex-member of Charles Manson´s Family, by then serving life in prison for murder – to do the soundtrack and edited a new, different version of "Lucifer Rising" in 1980.
This record was released in the late eighties. The front-cover only shows a picture of Aleister Crowley while the backcover shows an early picture of Jimmy Page.
