“Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up” by Jeff Simmons (Straight Records STS 1057) 1969

Amazing, jammy psych with Frank Zappa guesting on guitar for two tracks, “Lucille” and “Raye” and apparently doing a lot more (including co-producing the record) under the pseudonym La Marr Bruister. Simmons was a member of Seattle band Ethiopia. He did the soundtrack for the biker film “Naked Angels” around the same time as this LP. Zappa wrote the title track, “Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up” and covers it on Joe's Garage. He also covers “Wonderful Wino” on Zoot Allures. My favorite track is “Aqueous Humore,” very strange & trippy…

Cover = EX (Extremely clean, no ring wear whatsoever, only a hint of edge wear)

Record = EX (No surface noise, excellent pressing, play-graded both sides and it's virtually perfect throughout, no spindle marks)
