The Singing Reed
Fantasy 3 -212 Red Vinyl
Very Good Plus & Plays Excellent
The matrix sequence below, is an alternate alpha-numeric from the one that is listed in Discogs for the Red Vinyl pressing of this LP.
One of the differences is a five pointed star symbol stamped after the initial matrix numbers. We are not certain here - but elsewhere, when this star mark stamp is found, it indicates that the vinyl was pressed at Capitol Records’ Los Angeles pressing plant, which is possible since operations there were well underway in the mid 1950s.

LP: (Visually Graded) Very Good Plus, according to Goldmine record grading definitions. Has a very modest amount of sleeve scuffs and hairlines / minor abrasions but nothing that presents a tracking issue as comprehensively tested - please see play grade specifics below. Still has excellent plating gloss and labels are still in good shape, but with minor degree of wear (see detailed photos). The LP is exceptionally clean and turntable ready.
Play Graded - Excellent What minor surface noise exists (very muted, similar to very sparse static), is only occasional between tracks and is at a low modulation during tracks.
So, as a point of reference - a Compact Disc being 10 on the scale of lack of surface noise, this LP is about an 8.7, between tracks and an 8.8 and better during song selections. Aside from the existence of the mostly sporadic and light surface noise - the mastering of this pressing is outstanding, making for a superb listening experience.
Cover: (Graded) Very Good Plus - moderate degree of ring / shelf / edgewear but has all solid seams (no splits). (see all detailed photos provided for more specific condition factors)
