Finaly i got this LP for sale, new just launched from Czech republic. Sealed copy, only few on Stock and only 500 where made as part of a limited edition 180 GRAM be quick this will be sold very very fast. Luis Alberto Spinetta, born in 1950 in Buenos Aires, belonged among the most important men in Argentian Rock and Jazz/Fusion history.Through the 70's he had a fruitful career, starting as a teenager with Almendra in 1967, passing through Pescado Rabioso in early-70s and performing with Invisible in mid-70's.Strangely all bands dissolved after he recorded three albums with each of them, while artistically he developed his stylings from Psych/Folk Rock to Hard/Psych to Progressive Rock.After Invisible disbanded in 1976, he made his first attempt as a solo artist, recruiting fellow Invisible bandmate Carlos Alberto Rufino on bass, Diego Rapoport on keyboards and Osvaldo Adrian Lopez on drums, who had previously played with Pastoral.Marcelo Vidal on bass and his brother Gustavo Spinetta on drums helped in one track and in 1977 his debut ''A 18' del sol'' was released on CBS.

Some of Spinetta's leanings towards Jazz Fusion music could also be heard during his venture with INVISIBLE, but ''A 18' del sol'' was a huge step into the genre, still retaining the sensitive mood of a Singer/Songwriter album.It's kind of a RETURN TO FOREVER approach into Electric Fusion with some notable tracks, featuring fast and complex bass lines and Spinetta's jazzy solos and pretty nice breaks, tracks that are given full space for solos on electric piano and producing some ethereal and melodic lines in the process.There are even some nice synths in series of pieces and the instrumental parts are pretty nice with a fair dose of technique, but the biggest issues of this release are its softness and consistency.When you are up in the mood for some fiery, jazzy executions, the atmospheres switches to vocal-driven, poppy Jazz Rock with Spanish lyrics, where you meet some improvised parts and solos sitting next to calm, lyrical music.Too unrelated moods, that are hard to swallow as a whole.The depressive, low-key passages are too many, as a result the album lacks the energy and dynamics you will listen to some of the kick off tracks.Spinetta's guitar moves remain still interesting and his voice is quite poetic, but this work is overall pretty mellow, leaving a desire for more passionate, instrumental music.

After a unsuccesful attempt tby Spinetta to revive Almendra around 1979, Rapoport joined him in Spinetta Jade at the dawn of the 80's, while Rufino became a member of Tantor.I admit I gave up on Spinetta's solo albums (which are numerous), after listening to this album, as reputedly it was his more artistic and progressive personal release.Recommended to fans of Jazz Fusion, who don't mind a calmer sound and fair doses of lyrical parts in their music.
