Description
Luis Maravilla, one of the finest of the old-time traditional jondo flamenco players, who also published at lot of his transcriptions in standard notation and some tab for you players out there, some of which are on this recording and some of which I have for sale elsewhere (see my other listings). Maravilla taught for years at his shop in Madrid and schooled generations of guitarists. Here 's one of his classic recordings, classic and infrequently seen: Flamenco Puro (Pure Flamenco), recorded in 1960 on his Santos Hernandez guitar.
This full length LP album features the following pieces (palos): Zapateado de la Tanguera 2:42, El Darro de Grana (granadinas) 4:18, El Baile de la Macaarona (alegrias) 3:51, Brisas Malaguenas 3:05, Fal;setas por Seguiriyas 3:48, La Guitarra por Huelva (fandangos) 3:11, Falsetas por Bulerias 3:47, Mi Farruca Gitana 3:43, Alegrias de Cadiz 3:35, Por la Sierra de Cordoba (serranas - like seguiriyas but in E) Guajiras Cubanas 3:29, and Tientos y Marianas (3:23).
I am a flamenco player, not a record grader, but I would give the vinyl a 'mint' or 'near-mint' grade with the unsplit case an 'excellent'. The vinyl looks like it was never played.
