Description

The Lyman Woodard Organization “Saturday Night Special“ original LP on Strata, 1975

This auction is for an original copy of the jazz classic “Saturday Night Special” LP from Lyman Woodard on the Stata label from 1975. An elusive and solid rare groove must have with the tracks “Saturday Night Special”, “Joy Road”, “Belle Isle Daze”, Creative Musicians”, “Cheeba”, “Allen Barnes”, “On Your Mind”, and “Help Me Get Away”. A great album from start to finish featuring Lyman Woodard on electric piano, organ, and mellotron along with Ron English, Norma Bell, and Leonard King with liner notes by John Sinclair. Album is an original and was obtained with many other 60s and 70s jazz LPs from lifelong collector. Vinyl is in Mint condition with no scuffs or scratches and has plenty of shine, appears unplayed. Jacket is M- with only the slightest bit of ringwear forming on bottom and some slight creasing along left spine, not too bad but worth mentioning. See photo below. An excellent looking and sounding copy of this very hard to find Detroit jazz record. Will ship well packed in cardboard record mailer.
