Description

Lynda Jenkins:Love Is All Around 1971 UK LP on the Blue Decca Label with catalogue number SKL 5108. Vinyl is Mint Minus. Laminated Sleeve is also Mint minus. Item is a Sample copy with 2 small Decca Sample stickers on the item.

' Forget Vashti Bunyan, Julie Covington's Beautiful Changes, even Mandy More and Mary-Ann THIS is probably the most elusive UK Major Label early 70's female Folk item. Anyone who is into Mary Hopkin's Apple LP's will love this.  - Clearly Decca were trying to promote Jenkins as the new Hopkin, describing her on the sleeve as 'The Young Sound of Wales ' and giving her a cross section of material as that which appeared on those exquistively arranged Apple LP's. Produced by Ray Horricks who also produced Bread, Love and Dreams, Alan Trajan, Davy Graham etc and with arrangements by 60's Pop stalwart Ivor Raymonde ( Honeybus, Walker Bros etc ). Love Is All Around includes a couple of songs penned by Raymonde and Horricks as well as a sumptous version of ' Where Will You Be 'In fact all 12 songs effectively showcase Jenkins crystalline vocals with a chamber pop/folk framework that includes oboes, celeste, flute, French horns etc. Apartt from Hopkin, there are clearly very strong similarities to Catherine Howe's What A Beautiful Place, and Julie Covington's Beautiful Changes - which, of course, make this an extremely desirable piece of plastic for UK femvox folk collectors. '
