Lynyrd Skynyrd's renowned debut album, one that almost singlehandedly popularized the Southern hard rock genre in the 1970's.

Includes "I Ain't The One", "Tuesday's Gone", "Simple Man" and smash hit, live show mainstay "Free Bird".  

This album was produced by the legendary Al Kooper, perhaps best known for his performances with Bob Dylan ("Highway 61 Revisited") and Michael Bloomfield ("Super Session" and "Live Adventures of Bloomfield and Kooper").

The band was led by talented Ronnie Van Zant, who sadly was killed together with two fellow band mates in a 1977 plane crash, at the peak of their recording career. 

Includes original MCA company inner sleeve, in EX condition.

Overall superb sound quality on this well recorded album.

Wax plays very well, with only modest surface noise ("crackle") audible between tracks and during a few quiet passages.

Light paper scuffs / scratches are visible but have only modest or no impact on sound quality.

Super high gloss remains.                   

Labels are bright and clean, excepting a 1/2 inch black mark near the Side 2 center hole.

Front jacket color photo and text are clear and sharp, with traces of ring/rub wear.

Sticker residue present and initials inked in upper right corner of jacket front.

Back jacket color photo and text are bright and clear, with modest ring/rub wear.

Inside gatefold jacket area is NM, with B&W photos and lyrics that are crystal clear.

Solid seams and spine, with modest rub wear / corner damage.  No splits.  

Spine print is legible.

All records are packaged with the wax outside the jacket (to avoid seam split in transit), enclosed in a plastic sleeve and shipped in robust record mailer boxes via USPS Media Mail, tracking included.
