We have for sale, via Buy It Now, the ORIGINAL Lynyrd Skynyrd "Street Survivor" record album, released in 1977.
This record album and cover is one of the original MCA 3029 albums, pressed in the United States in 1977 and labeled as a SAMPLE COPY, aka a PROMO COPY, with the upper right corner of the album cover removed. This type of album is much rarer than the albums that were distributed to retailers.
This is the infamous "Street Survivor" album that was released THREE DAYS before the tragic plane crash that took the lives of Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Ronnie Van Zant and two other members of the group.
This album cover shows the band members in the foreground and flames in the background.
After the plane crash, MCA changed this original album cover, out of respect for those who were killed.
Also included with this "folding album" are the original inserts. One insert lists the band members, album songs, and credits on one side, and the ill-fated 1977-78 tour dates on the other side. The other insert has an order form for the "Lynyrd Skynyrd Survival Kit" on one side , and a fan questionaire on the other side.
This Lynyrd Skynyrd "Street Survivors" record album and original cover are both in FANTASTIC CONDITION. The record album has no sign of scratches or other imperfections. The album cover has been stored in a thick plastic sleeve in a climate-controlled storage area of our home.
