ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful and exceedingly rare LP from Pathé (DTX 269, French Pathe-Marconi pressing, green/silver label, mono – no stereo edition exists) entilted "Musique pour les enfants de Bach à Stravinsky" features a remarkable voyage of discovery through the piano literature, from the les classiques to les compositors du XX Siècle with the remarkable Hungarian pianist Livia Rev (also spelled Lyvia) as guide, an arist of uncommon eloquence and poetic insight whose sterling technique is allied to a luminous bell-like tone – this is magical playing.
Anything by Rev is worth seeking out and this album – essentially an historical recital series – remains among the most successful undertaken by one pianist on record – a delight!
Recorded at the Salle Wagram, Paris in April 1957, Ms. Lev – who plays a Steinway Piano – offers this treasurable program:

CONDITION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the front laminated jacket is VERY GOOD. There is flattening to the spine, a small bit of writing “217” to the upper-right corner, bumping/wear at corners, creasing, and mild discoloration. However, there are no bends, seamsplits, or other defects and the album remains solid, bright and glossy; indeed, the front panel has a rich lustre to, quite attractive – overall, a very handsome collector's copy.
The condition of the LP is VERY GOOD. There are some scattered tics, occasional instances of momentary distortion, and a few noisy passages, but nothing fatal, and I still regard this as an enjoyable collector’s copy. However, those wanting a flawless or near-MINT copy are kindly advised to look elsewhere. If you must have quiet surfaces throughout, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a very good collector’s copy.
