- A real beauty recorded back in 1969.
- Dominated by cool Hammond organ within some wonderful fuzzed-out guitar, the easy flowing grooves by THE SOULS OF INSPYRATION have an infectious rock style that grows with each spin. The strong vocals amid psychy harmonies are additives enhancing the self-compositions giving the Souls Of Inspyration their own sound...what else could you ask for?
- Well, Bent Wind for one supposes? Which these cats are not, but who is?
On merits of "rarity" alone -- way less copies of this album have turned up than albums like "Plastic Cloud", "It's All Meat", Reign Ghost, Jarvis Street Review, and onward...- An excellent piece of Canadian Psych history.

Red Lake, Ontario infectious, with highly collectible sound, the soft-psych rockers The Souls of Inspyration had that "something "Gandalf" special" style, performing at many of the teen-scene hot-spots across Canada before morphing their sound into a murkier psychedelic mix, touring Quebec with the likes of Vanilla Fudge and other popular bands solidifying their fan base. A BATTLE OF THE BANDS competition at Montreal's "Man and His World" exposition in July 1970 won the band a fortnight slot at the Canada Pavilion Expo '70 in Osaka, Japan, thus getting the group a dream contract with Columbia Records who were looking for the next big thing.
Awash in accolades and promise, the Souls Of Inspyration inked a recording deal before cutting their only album for the then-progressive Columbia Records (two-eyes) label (whose adventurous roster also boasted The Magic Bubble, Jarvis Street Review and It's All Meat.) Offering a breezy Hammond organ, airy guitar and groovy lyrics - The Souls of Inspyration had potential-plus 'Eyes of Nature' is the kind of self composition one might find on albums like Capitol's "Gandalf" with post psychedelic era drug-addled lyrics.
Like we advised, good luck finding a copy at all, - no less this minty clean.
