We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. The MIGHTY """OMEGA""" made some 30 albums, none better than their classic hard/melodic psych "ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT"album, released ONLY in Hungary, 1973 ... possibly their best ever!
Equal to the legendary KRAUTROCK scene and were soon to be released on BACILLUS records (leading "Krautrock" label)
- This is one of the coolest psychedelic albums with many sixties influences being heard from the Doors to Hendrix as well as Omega`s own traditionally influenced HEAVY-Hard Rock Psychedelic edged compositions.
- If Omega had been singing in English and didn`t have to contend with political restrictions which were in effect back in the early '70s in communist ruled Eastern Europe they would have definitely made a mark on the western charts way before 1973 when they began recording in English on the West German "KRAUTROCK" label Bacillus Records.
- Although they had briefly played various gigs in England including the Marquee Club and released a partial album in 1968 on the Decca label, it wasn`t until 1969/70 that they really started making their mark with the albums "10,000 Steps" and "On the Road at Night " which both went gold in their native land.
- The material on On the Road at Night is a very interesting combination of some very trippy psychedelia as well as some compelling melodics which seem to draw from their Hungarian roots and not unlike songs that were being produced by contemporary classic American underground bands in the late sixties.
One of the more striking tracks and of interest to fans of early prog is the final track, "Emergency Exit" with Hammond organ intro which detonates into fiery Emersonistic complex riffing.
- Other tracks even have early Krautrock edges to them.
- Odd instrumentation's are employed such as the fluttering (TULL) flute and violin and are used to great effect, though the flute playing is a lot more spacey than Ian Anderson`s hysterics.
- There is some really cool riffing on what is definitely the heaviest track, "When Happiness Was Handed Out" which also has some Jimmy Page sounding guitar freaking out.
On the melodic drifter side, the title track "On The Road At Night" is sung passionately by Janos Kobor which is about a drifter in the night ..."There is a Word" is a very melodic Hammond organ led piece which seems to be about someone searching for his/her fate with some nice guitar accompaniment throughout.
- Very melancholic.
Anyone who is into sixties psychedelia, Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, The Animals, The Doors etc. should definitely check out this classic Omega work, and highly recommended. - One of Omega's +BEST+ albums and they made over 30 albums since the mid 60's ... "On The Road At Night" the rarest and best, is decidedly their best album, from 1973, a raw heavy & melodic Hard Psych affair led by dynamic Hammond Organ / fiery guitar interplay ...
