Original VINYL first pressing of a great early (1966) concert in San Francisco by the illustrious 13th Floor Elevators recorded around the time of their amazing first album.

Rare top clean M- first press!

The 13th Floor Elevators were wild-eyed visionaries. Led by seminal rock icon Roky Erickson, and founder Tommy Hall, they were one of the pioneering groups in psychedelic rock in the 1960s. Hall’s philosophy, heavily rooted in altered consciousness (LSD), and re-evaluation of language through the lenses of mathematics and numerology, is an overarching theme of this, in their first two album's. While at their creative peak, the albums are notable for being one of the first to coin the descriptor psychedelic for music, and its starkly different sound and mood to most of the music flitting about the 60s. Here, on this (long rare) very limited first press, the band is caught on vinyl at their September 2nd 1966 Avalon Ballroom show when they had hit the streets fleeing from uptight Texas to the happening free love & music scene of San Francisco, California. One of their great early gigs. note: this is the first issue which was copied with subsequent different covers & lo-fi qualities. Best cover art and best quality here.
