This was Bob Dylan's first single that basically fizzled to the point of being pulled back. Prior to "the Freewheelin' Bob Dylan", everyone just thought he was a wanna be. So this single went absolutely nowhere. His playing style was also much more drastic and electric than anyone expected and the record company recalled 80% of the singles. The DJ copy of this single is more readily available even though it is rare itself. "Mixed Up Confusion" never appeared on any LP record album and is the most sought after Dylan 45. The Goldmine Price Guide has it listed at $1500. I would like to give a true Dylan fan the opportunity to own this super rare 45 (especially in this condition), but I am not interested in giving it away. The price will only go up as the years go by, so I will just keep it in my collection if I need to. Please read ALL of the info below and feel free to message me with any questions you may have.

RECORD GRADING:  I grade conservatively, so that my buyers are pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed when their record arrives.

VINYL CONDITION:  Amazingly Beautiful Top Copy!  I am giving it a M-, as there are no scuffs or scratches and appears to have never been played. And when I say there are no scuffs or scratches, that also includes the dead wax area. Because of this, I did not listen to it for a sound grade, as I did not want to put a needle on it. If it didn't have the 2 x's on one side of the label, I don't see how you would find a cleaner copy. This record was in a collection that I recently purchased from a DJ, so he may have marked the "hit" side, and then since it was not a commercial success, it just may have never gotten played. It was in the company sleeve in the picture, which would have been uncommon for DJ use, since most DJ's used the heavy green sleeves, as was the case with this DJ. Almost all of the 3500 records in his collection were in those green sleeves.

LABEL CONDITION:  The orange looks as bright now as it did in 1962. The black lettering is bold with absolutely no wear to it. The only thing you can "knock" this 45 for is the 2 x's on one side of the label. The pictures of the labels are accurate, so feel free to use the magnifier and take a close look at them.  

RECORD PACKAGING: Due to the collectible nature and value of this 45, I will remove it from its original Columbia sleeve and place it in a plain white sleeve, before placing it in a clear plastic sleeve. I will then wrap it in bubble wrap and place it between two pieces of cardboard, before it goes in its specially made 45rpm record shipping box.
