ORIGINAL 1966 first pressing on the rare local Chicago U.S.A. label, before the band found fame with Columbia Records...the 'stereo' original is a lot rarer, most first pressings found are mono.
Easily the best Buckinghams album, surprising raw edged garage sound, the Chicago teen scene favorites were far away from their slick hit formula, and soon were thrust into the national spotlight with the breakout hit "Kind Of A Drag" and that netted them the Columbia Records contract ...
The first album is with arguably their best hit, and that is just the start, for even better tracks await within, featuring a burning inspired energy up and down both sides -- the teen scene garage sound in full glory -- a surprisingly album that should appeal to not only sixties fans but the more edgey garage rock fans too! ...after this album, Columbia Records signed them and the meatmarket record executives molded their sound into studio-enhanced slick pop charters...but wait, there was a time before all that....
Popular attractions while still in high school, the quintet changed its name from the Pulsations to the Buckinghams to reflect the British Invasion craze and signed with Chicago's USA Records in 1966. Backing Dennis Tufano's buoyant lead vocals with prominent harmonies and punchy arrangements, the group came across the wistful "Kind of a Drag," and in short order, the Buckinghams had a million-selling pop chart-topper on their hands. Aside from that, their first album is their only album that delivers the gritty sound straight from the garage -- with the type of raw teen grooves you may hear on local labels such as "Justice," "Fredlo" and other local private pressings from the sixties ...Right from the first track in "I'll Go Crazy" you get that 'pure' sixties garage energy that keeps on movin' through both sides...

CONDITION: The thick cover is in great shape, well cared for after 44 years, "EX" (excellent) with no seam splits, no bends, no writing. a SOLID keeper collectible.
The vinyl on the light blue U.S.A. label (mono is dark blue), all glossy clean M- plays fantastic with that one dimentional sixties garage sound!
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
