Description
Columbia records stereo two disc set in gatefold jacket, M2S 617, earliest grey 6 eye label discs have no "CBS" at the top of the label, pressed in the US.
Sides 1-3 contain the Mahler Das Lied Von Der Erde, with Mildred Miller, mezzo soprano and Ernst Häfliger, tenor. Bruno Walter conducts the New York Philharmonic. The fourth side contains the Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer) sung by Mildred Miller, with Bruno Walter and the Columbia Symphony Orchestra.
This original two disc set with Das Lied on 3 sides was not in print very long. Das Lied was remastered onto a single disc, which is much more common. Considerably better sound quality on this rather rare set.
