Description

MAD DOG-617 LP-RARE private MI psych fuzz '77
RARE KILLER Garage LP* in ACID ARCHIVES

artist: MAD DOG
title: 617
label: FISH HEAD RECORDS / FH 7701

vinyl: EX++ (Vinyl is extremely shiny and beautiful in every way! Looks and sounds as though it was played only once or twice if ever before in it's life. There is only one or two extremely light scuffs that in no way effect play, likely have been there since it's day of pressing. Music plays LOUD and STRONG with only a few light bits of pop & crackle here and there; record plays notably clean and clear, a truly amazing copy of this RARE Michigan private press LP. Labels look perfect both sides with no signs of wear or writing at all to mention. NICE!!!)

cover: EX+ (Cover looks fantastic overall! No seam splits, bends, stickers or writing to mention. Just the slightest bit of shelf wear and a hint of edge wear, but nothing at all notable or distracting in any way whatsoever. Looks really great all around.)

This auction is for the RARE and highly in-demand "617" LP by MAD DOG, recorded between 1974 and 1976 and privately released in 1977. The whole LP has an incredible raw garage production, heavy fuzz guitars, rough and punky-blues vocals with songs that are both punk & psych freak-out rockers all at once...absolute KILLER Michigan garage rock, as seen within the pages of ACID ARCHIVES! It's sort of like Blue Cheer meets The Frost crossed with a rougher Doors, or even early Misfits meets the Pink Fairies...yet completely has a sound of it's own; some pretty crazy stoned stuff as well as a constant driving sound. I wouldn't be all too surprised if Jack White of the White Stripes owns a well worn copy of this record, it's not too far of a stretch of the imagination to think that he just might have borrowed a few moves directly from this LP. Definitely not one to be missed!!! I have set the opening bid on this fine copy of this RARE Lp at a very low 40 dollars with no reserve. Thank you for viewing my auction. Paypal only Please.
