Original Stereo LP Mushroom Records MRL-34915 , released 1973. Australian 1st pressing with pink mushroom label. Gatefold cover.
Madder Lake were one of the most original bands to emerge on the Australian music scene in the early 1970s. This is the first of only two albums (apart from a 'Best Of') that were released by the band.
Considered one of the strongest and most original albums of the period, Ian McFarlane rightly calls "Stillpoint" ... an adventurous work, brimming with superbly arranged material, appealing sounds and imaginative lyric themes". Simply fantastic aussie 70's prog/psych rock!
The albums' front and rear covers are beautifully framed by Drak's wonderful illustrations, which complemented the music in much the same way as Roger Dean's famous covers for Yes. The distinctive Madder Lake logo, designed by Ian McClausland completes the package. Inside the gatefold are six posterised photos of the band plus a track listing.

Condition:
Record - VG :This record is in very good condition. There are some light surface marks and a fair number of sleeve scuffs however it plays very well with excellent dynamics. Background noise is only heard during some quieter sections of the record or between tracks. There is the occasional crackle or pop but nothing that overpowers the dynamics of the music. The record has excellent gloss/sheen. There is no writing on the labels.
Cover -Ex: Front cover, back cover and gatefold are in great condition.There is no ring wear and virtually no creasing. All corners and edges are clean and crisp. Spine without splits or ink wear. There is no writing anywhere on the covers. In fact the only flaws that I can see are a few unobtrusive rubbing spots within, just under, and to right of the front cover logo.
This a clean, exceptionally well cared for Ist pressing of the one of the most legendary Australian prog/psych. albums of the 1970's by Madder Lake.
