It was released in 1995 on the 'Maverick/Sire/Warner Bros. Records' label (cat. no. W0285 TX) in a Limited run, and comes in a metallic-effect card picture sleeve.
'Bedtime Story' was the third single to be released from the sixth Madonna studio album, 'Bedtime Stories'. The track was co-written by acclaimed Icelandic singer Björk, Massive Attack's producer Nellee Hooper and Grammy Award-winning writer/producer Marius De Vries. It was a departure from Madonna's pop-R&B-based outputs in favour of unconventional and electronic music. Lyrically, the song talks about the joys of the unconscious world.
The single received positive reviews from the critics, with Billboard calling it “easily among her boldest and most experimental pop singles to date”, with its “trippy and cutting-edge trance dance rhythms”. 'Bedtime Story' was a Top 10 hit in Australia, Italy, Finland and the UK, where it peaked at #4. It also reached the Top 40 in several other countries, and reached #42 on the US Billboard 'Hot 100' chart.
This Limited Edition 12” vinyl comes in a special metallic-effect sleeve, and features four remixes of 'Bedtime Story'; one by Orbital and three by Junior Vasquez.
British electronic dance music duo Orbital consist of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll, and are known for the singles 'Chime', 'Satan', 'Halcyon' and 'The Saint' and the albums 'Snivilisation' and 'In Sides'. They have provided remixes for a diverse range of acts, including Meat Beat Manifesto, EMF, Shamen, Kraftwerk and Alabama 3.
New York-based DJ Junior Vasquez began working in production in the 80s alongside Shep Pettibone, where they worked on tracks by the likes of Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Prince, MC Hammer and Pet Shop Boys. For six years (89-95) he was a DJ at the original Sound Factory club in NY, which he co-founded. Over the years, he has remixed tracks for a large number of artists including Kylie Minogue, Moby, Beyonce, Cher, Mary J. Blige, Pink, Justin Timberlake and David Bowie. In 1996, Madonna fell out with him over his track 'If Madonna Calls', which uses a sample of her voice from his answering machine. She didn't approve the track, which was a #24 hit in the UK, and vowed never to work with him again.
The sleeve is in excellent condition and the vinyl is New and Unplayed.
