In 1992, American singer Madonna recorded a cover version of "Fever" for her 5th album Erotica (1992). Madonna was in the studio putting down tracks for the album & had just recorded a song called "Goodbye to Innocence". She was going through the final stages of production on the song & suddenly started singing the lyrics to "Fever" over "Goodbye to Innocence". She liked the way it sounded so much that she recorded it & introduced original lyrics. Although "Fever" was never officially released as a single in the US, it managed to become a dance hit, becoming her 15th song to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play. In the UK, the song debuted at its peak position of #6 on the Singles Chart.
"Take a Bow" is a song by Madonna from her 6th album Bedtime Stories (1994). It was released as the album's 2nd single on Dec 6, 1994. It is a midtempo pop ballad written & produced by Madonna & Babyface. The song also appears on her compilation albums Something to Remember (1995), GHV2 (2001) & Celebration (2009). A full orchestra backed “Take a Bow”. "Take a Bow" lyrically talks about unrequited love & Madonna saying goodbye. Music critics praised the song's soulful, poetic lyrics. The track was a commercial success in the US, becoming Madonna's 11th #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, topping the chart for 7 weeks. It also reached #1 in Canada & the top 10 in Italy, Switzerland & New Zealand.
