MAGIC CARPET Magic Carpet MUSHROOM 200 MR 20 UK 1972 MINT / MINT! This album is the legendary acid psych prog (psychedelic progressive) folk rarity featuring the "gorgeous vocals of Alisha which are among the most hypnotic and enchanting ever recorded" (quote). Alisha Sufit wrote more than half the songs and designed the cover too. Also featured is the amazing guitar and sitar work of Jim Moyes and Clem Alford, plus Alisha playing acoustic guitar. Keshav Sathe, the renowned and brilliant Indian tabla player, underpins the sound of the whole album with his exquisite percussion. This is "one of the rarest and best of the British acid psych folk monsters" (quote) the original UK LP in mint condition. There were only 1,000 pressed, released early in 1972. The album in this auction is unplayed 'as new' in immaculate condition, with no creases, wear or marks on the sleeve (printed and made by the E.J. Day Group, London and Bedford) plus the LP labels are perfect. The only sign of the passage of time is the natural slight browning of the paper inner sleeve. The album was recorded at Chalk Farm Studios, London, in the chilly Winter of 1971/72 in true analogue recording format, which captures all the warmth and spontaneity of the time, evoking the magical atmosphere of those long lost days!
