            MAGIC SAM    (1937-1969)

 POST WAR MASTERS

  BLUE HORIZON MONO 7-63223

"Our special thanks to James Bracken who made this release possible. The sides contained on this album were variously dubbed from records, acetates, tapes and private tapes, and therefore in some cases the quality of sound leaves something to be desired. But we trust that the musical quality will atone for this. Mike Vernon 1969" Consequently, the occasional noise does not reflect the condition of this LP.  The quality of the music compensates for the few mishaps found in the originals.

                                  A Cobra (U.S.) Recording

                      Discograpical material from Blues Records

                                  by Leadbitter and Slaven.

Every LP collection contains Magic Sam's "West Side Soul."  "... In 1967 Sam recorded for the Crash label and things looked brighter that year. Soon after came a Delmark contract and Sam was picked for the 1969 American Blues Festival.  His new album was out and he had been a great success in Europe. Bookings were lined up and at last is seemed that the years of frustration and hardship were going to pay off. Sam was taken away before he could enjoy what he had worked so hard for. His high ability coupled with an unexpected early death catapulted him to something approaching legendary status.  This LP documents Magic's recording on Cobra before he became a star.

here are the tracks: EVERYTHING GONNA BE ALRIGHT, LOOK WHATCHA DONE, ALL MY WHOLE LIFE, LOVE ME WITH A FEELING, ALL YOUR LOVE, CALL ME IF YOU NEED ME, ROLL YOUR MONEY MAKER, EASY BABY, MAGIC ROCKER, LOVE ME THIS WAY, 21 DAYS IN JAIL, ALL NIGHT LONG

The condition of the LP and the cover are excellent.

** if you are a Blues collector, you will find we are putting hundreds of vintage blues LPs up for auction over the coming year.  My husband is grudgingly downsizing his massive collection which he has acquired over the past 40 years and you should find these listings worth considering.  Because he was the only owner of these LPs and he had too many to listen to, they were played very, very little and are all in excellent condition.  Mark this site as a 'favorite seller' or email if you have any special requests.  He has them all!

If you have any questions please email me and thanks for looking!  Good Luck!
