Here is one of the most coveted collectors LP of the 1970s prog rock music scene.
Magna Carta was originally formed in London on 10 May 1969, by Chris Simpson (guitar, vocals), Lyell Tranter (guitar, vocals) and Glen Stuart (vocals).
The band is renowned for their gentle ballad style and mythical subject matter. Although never purely a folk band, they managed to successfully bridge the gap between folk and folk rockThe trio released albums for Fontana Records Fontana and Vertigo Records, enjoying particular success with 1970's Seasons before Tranter returned to Australia.Davey Johnstone joined the line-up as his replacement, recording Songs From Wasties Orchard and In Concert with the band before leaving to work with Elton John, with whom he is still playing.
This is a first pressing of 'Seasons' by Magna Carta, on the early swirl Vertigo record label from 1970.
It is a rare UK 1st press matrix issue. The record vinyl run off has the early issue matrix 1Y/2Y and is in the original wonderful heavy weight vinyl.
This album is a fantastic sounding record with some great tracks.
A TRUE 60s ROCK GEM . . .
Vinyl:
The vinyl is in Very Good Plus Plus (VG ++) condition. The vinyl have one or two very minor surface scuffs on both sides. The black and white printed swirl labels are completely clean with light centre hole scuff marks. The black printed label text is sharp and clean. Over all a very tidy and very respectable collectors vinyl.

Sleeve
The sleeve is in Very Good Plus (VG +) condition. This is the early gatefold issue sleeve with the classic artwork design by the great Linda Glover. It has some light and minor handling marks. Minor and light edge wear. No tears of any kind. One very small penned name on back top left corner. Some very light and minor corner rounding.
Over all a bright, sharp and tidy original 1970 sleeve. Not bad for 40 years old . . .
Inner Sleeve
Original swirl inner Vertigo sleeve with light creasing and minor handling. Some discolouration and penned number top right corner.
