Magna Carta was originally formed in London on 10 May 1969, by Chris Simpson (guitar, vocals), Lyell Tranter (guitar, vocals) and Glen Stuart (vocals). The band is renowned for their gentle ballad style and mythical subject matter. Although never purely a folk band, they managed to successfully bridge the gap between folk and folk rock. The trio released albums for Fontana Records Fontana and Vertigo Records, enjoying particular success with 1970's 'Seasons' before Tranter returned to Australia. Davey Johnstone joined the line-up as his replacement, recording 'Songs From Wasties Orchard' and 'In Concert' with the band before leaving to work with Elton John, with whom he is still playing.

Vinyl looks clean with just some extremely faint sleeve wear traces. Side A in excellent- condition with some minor background noise near the start which soon mostly fades off, and just a handful of slight clicks. Side B in excellent condition and plays slightly better, sounds good with just an occasional quiet crackle.
Labels look clean with just three tiny dent marks on the side A label, and an average amount of spindle marks on both sides.
Sleeve in excellent++ condition and is in super shape. Surfaces are nicely flat and clean, edges are in shape with no splits. The main spine has virtually no wear and looks great, the top spines have a very small amount of light wear, the bottom spines have some mild scuff wear. Opening edges are tidy with just a few tiny dents on the rear side edge. Corners have light/mild scuffing, with a very light knock to the top right corner. Inside looks great! On the front face next to the Vertigo logo are the partial remnants of a price sticker, but this will probably clean off with care. No writing anywhere. Very nice!
Inner sleeve in excellent condition with very little wear, no edge splits, and just a bit of cigarette smoke staining along the bottom and one of the side edges.
