SENSATIONAL STUDIO album from John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra showcasing the band in brilliant form with Billy Cobham on drums, Jerry Goodman on Violin and Jan Hammer on keys. I can't state highly enough how mind blowing this album is - the musicianship is phenomenal with all parties going for it hammer and fist. The intensity of the arrangements and the execution cannot be understated. Chief contender is, of course, McLaughlin whose guitar work is out of this world - sure, this is progressive rock but he attacks his instrument as he were playing in a bad a*s heavy metal band. The solo's are breathtaking for not only their accuracy but also for the way they rip out of the speakers like Angus Young playing twice the speed and three times as loud!
Mention should be made of Billy Cobham, the other great component of this band whose playing, like McLaughlin's, is totally awe inspiring and completely other worldy.
Full marks too for the recording quality which is pitch perfect; clean, concise and crystal clear.
Beautiful MINT copy. If you've never heard this one and are afraid of 'tricky' jazz rock then I suggest that you put those apprehensions asside for once. You'll be utterly stunned into submission. I guarantee it.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Nice clean unplayed condition. No spindle marks on labels. Grades as shop fresh MINT!
Cover: Again, virtually no signs of any use. Issued in a textured cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 43 years. Grades as shop fresh MINT!
