Description

GUSTAV MAHLER'S 'Das Lied Von der Erde' (The Song of the Earth) - A Symphony for Tenor, Contralto (or Baritone) and Orchestra.  CHRISTA LUDWIG, mezzo-soprano, FRITZ WUNDERLICH, tenor and OTTO KLEMPERER conducting the NEW PHILHARMONIA & PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRAS.
1967 1st label (white) HMV Angel Series with gold label, white angel & nipper, black text  with 12 page booklet containing the German text together with English translations and notes by Deryck Cooke - overall superb condition
Vinyl in lovely EX+ condition with beautiful sheen and minimal very mild surface marks which are just about visible under strong light, not feelable and don't detract from crystal clear sound quality.  Plays beautifully throughout with very minor, very faint background crackle in some quieter parts on side 2 (possibly due to age?), barely noticeable but thought I'd better mention them.
Labels pristine with negligible spindle wear.
Sleeve front laminated flipback and unmarked.
Booklet pristine.
Comes in original HMV Angel Series inner sleeve.
