GUSTAV MAHLER SYMPHONY No.2 IN C MINOR
Issue : RARE UK 1st PRESS Label : COLUMBIA Catalogue No : SAX 2474 Matrix : YAX 905-2 / 906-2
This UK rare 1st press is on the earliest light blue and silver Columbia label. It is complete with the very earliest YAX 905-2 / 906-2 matrix, the original Columbia EMI inner sleeve and laminated flipback Garrod sleeve. This is the second record in a two LP set. Both parts were sold separately.
The vinyl is in Excellent condition. There is a sensational jet black gloss, every track gleams. There are a couple of wispy hairlines most likely from the inner sleeve, but there are no significant signs of play at all. The label is also superb, the light blue is exceptionally bold and the silver text is immaculate. There is just the slightest spindle wear. It is in fabulous condition. It is complete with the original polylined inner sleeve in Excellent condition.
The sound quality is Near Mint. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There is superb separation and clarity throughout.
The laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. It is extremely clean and bright. The colours are vivid, the text is solid and the white rear of the sleeve is perfect. There is just a little corner wear. The whole sleeve is very solid and the spine is firm with clear text.
