On offer is the mega-rare album by the Majority One issued on the German Polydor subsidiary label FINGER (2396 102). As far as I am aware this album was only ever released in several countries on the continent, in 1973. The album and sleeve are in mint condition. You will not find this album in a better condition! As far as I am aware, I have never seen this album for sale in the Record Collector in all the 20 plus years I have been collecting it, and so I can only presume it to be mega-rare. So what do you get for your money? Well, the Majority One were in fact the Hull-based psych/pop band the Majority, who had a number of well documented singles releases in this country in the late 60s. Following their lack of success in the UK, they decided to decamp to the Continent, where, complete with new name, they released a couple of picture singles in various countries, most notably the glorious "Get Back Home". (which incidentally is not on the album). This album, to my knowledge was their only LP release. The album (with suitable psychedelic cover) is full of well crafted psych/pop/toytown/freakbeat, original tracks, full of the usual psychedelic phasing and feedback, which if it had been released in 1967 would now be a highly prized album. As it turned out, by 1973 when the album was released, psychedelic music was a thing of the past, and so the album became lost in the mists of time. The music is full of influences by such bands as the Beatles, the Bee Gees, Badfinger, and the Marmalade, etc. etc. The final track "Roger La Frite" is a 6 minute psych guitar workout which easily compares with "Get Back Home".
