Although Kawabata Makoto generally maintains an extraordinary workrate with Acid Mothers Temple, both in terms of shows played and records released, it's been a little while since we've been graced with a bona fide solo album. Yet 'Astro Love and Infinite Kisses' has been well worth the wait, and showcases a gentler, more reflective side to the legendary six-string wildman's muse than is generally apparent at Acid Mothers gigs. Parallel to a lineage that stretches from Ash Ra Tempel to Birchville Cat Motel across the astral plane, and replete with celestial ambience and Daevid Allen-style guitar glissandos, yet this remains no less than a heavenly transmission from dimensions unknown.
