Description

Odeon A 39062

Artist: Gulava
Tracks: Ja'afar Hindustan / Jambu Merak Bakru

Rarely seen example of a Malaysian disc of "Malay Hindustani" music - probably recorded in Singapore ca. 1925. Nice Jawi script on label and a nice import sticker of "Seng Heng & Co" on label. Music is harmonium, drum, and high-pitched, expressive and less polished female vocal.

Condition: EE- (few light spots - plays excellently)

I will be regularly selling a lot of amazing discs from around the world in the coming months. Please bookmark me and check back in.
