JANUARY sale!.....LOW start!....NO high priced ‘Buy it Now’!

Original UK issue on Philips from 1972. NOT a US or foreign issue….NOT a repressing!......Record in unmarked condition. Really nice. Like a lot of these, only one cage bar is there…….but singer Lynn Carey still very visible inside!......In a Gatefold Sleeve.

The band was fronted (!) by Lynn Carey who was a decent blues-rock singer in the mould of Janis Joplin, and the rest of the band pump out some hard rock. The band included on vocals and keyboards a young James Newton Howard, who would go on to become well-known as a writer and performer of movie scores (Pretty Woman, Prince of Tides, The Dark Knight, etc.)

But … the cover art. Mama Lion was perhaps best known for its notorious gatefold photo, which was revealed after you opened the “cage door” on the album’s cover…..(I’ve censored it) One "cage bar" left!
