The leading rock vocal group of the late 1960s, THE MAMAS & THE PAPAS epitomized the ethos of the mid to late '60s pop culture: live free, play free, and love free. Their music, built around radiant harmonies and a solid electric folk foundation, was gorgeous on its own terms, but a major part of its appeal lay in the easygoing southern California lifestyle it endorsed at the time. The group's appeal, however, has lingered, as reflected in its induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

The Mamas & The Papas was produced by Time-Life Music in cooperation with MCA Records Inc. Proprietary equipment, engineering and mastering by Fry Systems. Arlington, VA using AEG professional audio tape recorders. 

Gloversville record pressing plant located in Gloversville, NY, and owned by MCA Records, operated under that name from 1966 until closing in 2005. In its glory days, more than 600 employees worked around the clock at what was one of the nation's largest record manufacturing plants. From 1953 to 1966, the plant was operated as Decca Records Pressing Plant whose artists — including Buddy Holly, Marty Robbins and Conway Twitty — pushed early country music into the commercial mainstream. Six years later, Decca merged with MCA Records, expanding its lineup until it was purchased by MCA. Originally founded in 1931 as the Brunswick Radio Corporation, in its final days the plant was part of the Universal Music Group. Pressings from this plant can be identified by a '?-G-?' (2 boxes with a 'G' in the center) stamped in the run out.

ALL 4 SIDES OF THE RECORDS LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND PLAY PERFECT. DON'T EVEN SEE AS MUCH AS A SCUFF. THE GENERIC CARDBOARD JACKETS HAVE PLENTY OF WEAR AND YELLOWING AS WELL AS ONE OF THE SEAMS STARTING TO BECOME UNGLUED. SOME WRITING ON THE FRONTS AT THE TOP FROM THE PRESSING PLANT.
