It just hit me when I first got it - It was this big, dark, creative mess of an album with all of these different layers of meaning and melody and certain recurring motifs which weave in and out of the tracks.
Don't get me wrong - it can be a tough listen. Not Trout Mask Replica tough, but tough nonetheless as you have very little space to rest and very few clear places of repetition to rest on, but give it time. Eventually, as you know where things are going, the whole thing becomes euphorically wonderful.
It gets better with every listen
