Up for sale is a gorgeous, verified 1974 US First Commercial Pressing of Manu Dibango's classic Afro-funk album Makossa Man (Atlantic Records, SD 7276) [r141439-Manu-Dibango-Makossa-Man , r3449184 ]. This highly collectible, audiophile-grade copy was pressed at the PRC Richmond plant (indicated by the RI label suffix) and features the coveted AT/GP dead-wax inscription on both sides [r11222534-Manu-Dibango-Makossa-Man , r3449184 ], proving it was mastered from the initial lacquer batch (AAA-1 / -A) by legendary engineer George Piros for a massive, uncompressed bass sound. The vinyl itself is in VG+ visual condition, boasting a beautiful, deep mirror-like gloss with very good playing grooves and immaculate center labels that show zero spindle wear. Side One contains a couple of light, completely superficial hairline scratches. Included is the original, period-correct Atlantic/ATCO "Soul" advertising inner sleeve in fantastic shape.
