MARA and her RUSSIAN ENSEMBLE MOONLIGHT ON THE RIVER b/w BELLS OF MOSCOW BOST 5001 | 1942
Additional Information: Very rare 78 featuring recordings by Mara and her Russian Ensemble, Directed by Rudolph Goehr. Labels are clean and shellac looks nice and in E- condition. The record was made in the U.S.A. Please refer to photos and feel free to email me with any questions.
The Bost Record Co. was established in New York in 1942 by the emigrated Herbert H. Borchardt. Borchardt had formerly worked for German and French Polydor.
The company specialized in issuing recordings of musical genres that were not covered by the main recording companies. The stated purpose of the company was "to issue albums of records that do not conflict with items that are already available in the catalogues of the 'Big Three,'" per the September 1942 article in The New Records bulletin (Vol. 10, No. 7, page 9).
As 78s are by nature fragile, I securely package them between two pieces of cardboard, and ship them in a box.
No shipping to Italy or France. Customs declared value for all international shipping will be final bid price and will not be lowered.
