Correctly "The Children of Rarn SUITE", not to be mistaken with the short intro/coda on the 1970 "T.Rex"-Album, although this intro is part of the suite as well! This is a treasure any Bolan-fan NEEDS to have, although it may be hard to get your fingers on it. It's a demo from about 1971 with Marc on acoustic guitar. The "treated" version, sensitively arranged by Toni Visconti ( who eventually found that demo at his home recently after Marc's death, admitting he loved it so much he always urged Marc to make an album of it - with Bolan always replying: "I've got to give the kids a rocker this time" ), has first been released on the double-album "MARC - The Words and Music of Marc Bolan 1947-1977" and makes this demo the most beautiful recording of Bolan's whole catalogue. It's been a sin that Marc didn't finish it right then. But Toni Visconti did a fine job nonetheless. This is far superior to the "Band Version" from about 1974 that appeared on the Box "A Wizard, a true Star", cause Bolan, by then, wasn't really able to re-create the magic anymore. Even the original demo is better, but in the very first place it's the "treated" version that any Bolan Fan must own, so watch out to get it somehow, cause sadly, the CD of "MARC" is out of print... and I don't know about another CD on which you can find it*. I'm not a fan of what the "Bramley's" fan-club did with their "Marc on Wax"-releases, however, this one - on vynil - is very beautiful because it had a little "book" with illustrations to the lyrics. So if you can get your hands on it - get it !!!
