Marc Bolan The Wizard c/w Beyond The Risin' Sun

Incredibly Rare Original 1965 45 RPM

1st Pressing UK Decca Records  Cat.No.F.12288

This was Marc's first ever 45 rpm single, released on the UK Decca label in November 1965.

This very early copy has the erroneous two dots (umlaut) above the O in Bolan on both the artist and composer on the flip side.

I would consider the overall condition to be around VG, as visually there are lots of fine hairline surface marks on the vinyl and  a 'surname' written in dark biro on the label centre.  This is quite difficult to see.

However, I have play tested this and the clarity of audio on both sides is really great.  There is some light crackle on the intro/outro and a light click as flip side runs out. No jumps or distortion to the sound and nothing that spoils the enjoyment of either track.

I have uploaded the playing of each side to YouTube so you can listen to the actual record offered for sale Although played on a Vintage Thorens turntable the recording on an Android phone has its limitations.

This original single, far harder to find than demo copies, is rarely offered for sale.  It is a great testimony to Marc's work and highly sought after by Bolan and British Psych collectors alike.
