Description
Released in 1975, this is the 45rpm, 7" single by Bostonian Marc Thor, "Holiday Fire" b/w "Boystown Boize", with vocal by John Kelly (Indy Records HUB 141).....see original scan!
The record was produced by Nola Rezzo. "Holiday Fire" was written by Thor, with the B-side written by Thor and Rezzo.
At the time of release, I wrote directly to Thor for a copy of the record, and with it he sent two 8 1/2" x 11" flyers: One a collection of quotes from reviewers about the single (with a photo of Thor), and the other more of an ad for the single with cost and Indy Records address (it describes the A-side as "a cataclysmic view of life and death in Hollywood").
Some excerpts from the reviews of the single: "'Holiday Fire' describes what will transpire when the Wild Boys take over American International Pictures", "....a wicked moody rocker that's hard to forget once you've heard it", "....the fave punk band of suburbia and Willie 'Loco' Alexander's proteges. The Boize are helped out by Walter Powers who, like Loco, is a former member of the mid-sixties punk band The Lost, and Richee Johnson." Also, in an interview, Thor discounts charges he was sacrilegious, stating instead that "I just like thorns, lace gloves, bleeding statues."
On the reviewer/quote flyer, Marc signed it following a brief note telling me he used to live in Austin, TX (at the time, I lived in Houston). On the back of the Indy ad, he hand-wrote (in black Sharpie, it appears) over a 1/2-page letter, telling me his regular Austin hang-outs, and how cold it is in Boston (20 below) at the time (Jan. '76), and he mentions how he misses Austin's Tex-Mex food in "Beantown"! He signs it, "Marc".

Record is in near mint condition, having been played once. The two special flyers are also near mint. I've been sole owner since release.
