A legendary Maria Yudina recording from 1960s:
J. S. Bach: Aria with 30 variations ('Goldberg-variations'), BWV 988; J. Brahms: 6 Intermezzo (Op. 116 No. 2; Op. 117 Nos. 1, 2; Op. 118 Nos. 2, 6; Op. 119 No. 2).
MELODIYA D 023881-4. USSR, 1969. Only mono issue. First Leningrad press.
VINYL VISUALLY IS VG+, SUPERFICIAL SCUFFS AND MARKS, MOSTLY FROM STORAGE (HAS NO ORIGINAL PLASTIC INNER SLEEVES WHEN FOUND), VERY MINIMAL SPINDLE WEAR ON EACH SIDE, SEE PICS. 1ST RECORD PLAYS STRONG VG+ OR BETTER WITH SOME BACKGROUND NOISE THAT PROBABLY INHERENT, FEW OCCASIONAL LIGHT CLICKS AND SOFT CRACKLE ALSO. SIDE 3 (GOLDBERG VARIATIONS FINAL) PLAYS AS WELL, BUT BUE TO TINY PRESSING BUMP ON BEGINNING OF IT (SEE PICTURE # 9) AND ONE MARK IN THE ENDING (IT IS START OF ARIA REPRISE) HERE ARE ALSO 7-8 POPS DURING BOTH PLACES. SIDE 4 PLAYS VG DUE TO CREAK SOUND ON THE BEGINNING REVOLUTIONS THRISE REPEATED, SOME CRACKLE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT (3 TO 4 TRACK) WITH CIRCA 50 CONSECUTIVE LIGHT CLICKS IN THIS PLACE, AND TWO PLACES ON 5TH TRACK WITH 3 TO 5 CONSECUTIVE LIGHT CLICKS ALSO.
SLEEVE BOX IS STRONG EX SHAPE, SOME LIGHT SCUFFING ON RIGHT SIDE OF COVER, OTHERWISE BEATIFUL, SEE PICS.
VG++ (= EX): Still very shiny, album has light signs of wear: a couple of inaudible light scuffs and/or light scratches.
VG+ : Some more wear, light scratches and/or scuffs: album plays with minimal surfacenoise = occasional light crackle, but still very enjoyable.
VG : Scratches and scuffs. Album plays with some more surfacenoise (light crackle and/or or occasional pops, but no skipped or repeat grooves).
G : Moderate, even wear throughout, still playable but with quite some surfacenoise (I rarely list records with this grade, except when they are very collectable
