Note : musiche e direzione orchestrale di Mario Nascimbene. Un capolavoro del compositore Milanese che riesce ad evitare i facili virtuosismi musicali che il tema sacro del film poteva offrirgli, rinunciando completamente alla tradizionale orchestra con tanti strumenti e musicisti ma avvalendosi unicamente del flauto suonato da Severino Gazzelloni, dei vocalizzi pieni di pathos di Sonali Das Guptas, compagna del regista, del Sitar e del Tanpura, tradizionali strumenti a corde dell'India e dello Shofar ricavato da un corno d'ariete di antica tradizione Ebraica. Musica dunque scarna ma d'intensità emotiva profondissima, lontanissima dalle colonne sonore dei tanti films a carattere storico-biblico degli anni cinquanta; composizione di straordinaria modernità, quasi un'opera d'avanguardia. In alcune tracce il parlato da scene del film. 13 brani.
Notes : music and orchestral direction by Mario Nascimbene. A masterwork by the Milanese composer who succeeds in avoiding the too easy musical virtuosities he could be exposed to by the sacred content of the film plot, renouncing to the use of a full traditional Orchestra rather availing himself only of the flute played by Severino Gazzelloni, the vocalisms rich of pathos performed by Director's Rossellini mate Sonali Das Guptas, the India traditional string instruments, Sitar and Tampura and the Jewish tradition Shofar, made out of a ram horn. In all, therefore, a bare still deeply emotional music so far from the abused styilisms common to soundtracks of movies of biblical-historical content in the fifties. We are in front of an exceptional modernity score, almost an avantgarde composition. Some of the 13 tracks feature the "Parlato" (original scenes dialogue) of the film.

Le vicende degli Apostoli dopo la morte di Cristo con la loro missione evangelizzatrice. Regia di Roberto Rossellini, con Jacques Dumur, Renzo Rossi, Mohamed Kouka, Giuseppe Mannaiuolo, Edoardo Torricella.
