MARION FAIRMAN & THE NEW WILMINGTON MISSIONARY CONFERENCE PLAYERS -- Days of Our Youth -- hard to find, original late 1960's (??) U.S. album. This is an apparently unknown private press LP featuring a number of original Folk-Rock-Xian songs w/ an innocent, late 1960's Youth/Hippie vibe, performed by the New Wilmington Missionary Conference Players, interspersed w/ staged dramatic spoken word scenes on Christian themes. There are no song titles listed on the label or blank back cover unfortunately, so it's impossible to tell song titles, but high points include a very good, Blue Things/Val Stoecklein-style folk-rock number apparently called "Is There A Reason Why?" w/ male vocals and haunting flute. There's also a really nice, fragile Peter Paul & Mary style number on Side One w/ female vocals, and an equally good male vocal downer Folk-Rock song w/ more eerie flute on the same side. Sound quality is incredibly primitive -- this was apparently recorded on a portable tape player in a big auditorium, so there's a really raw, echoey, "you are there" feel. Cover: VG++, still partially in shrink wrap, wear at upper right and lower right corners. Record: VG/VG+, several light-to-moderate scuffs, light surface wear, on RPC private label, U.S. pressing.
