THE MARK III PLUS 1, ‘This Blind World’ b/w ‘Bring It On Home To Me’ (no label, 196?)

Wow! Killer, lo-fi, moody teen garage with a downer feel and a discontent protest theme. Comparable to The New Dawn, possibly by way of Barry McGuire. Great muted, jangly guitar! No label, info or year of release; the only clue being COMMERCIAL RECORDERS INC. etched in the dead wax, indicating that this was an SF or Bay Area group (the Grateful Dead recorded their first single at the same studio). Surely a private release by the band and not many copies pressed. On the flip, the band try out a familiar Sam Cooke chestnut less successfully, but still come up with something enjoyable. Unknown and uncomped. DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE! SOUND CLIPS BELOW:

CONDITION: / VG+ (vinyl has a few light surface scratches and scuffs, with one deeper scratch which produces an audible ‘click’ during approximate 10 - 15 secs of the A-side; labels show some wear; very strong, borderline EX)
