Background -

During the time that Mark Levinson, the man, got into audio gear in a big (and famous) way, he was also involved in the production of some wonderful acoustic series recordings. This is one of them. These LPs were known as "Mark Levinson Acoustic Recording Series," were made in France and in many ways, remind us of the wonderful Harmonia Mundi LPs made in that same country. In every sense of the word, these are superb audiophile recordings, not in terms of bombastic sound, but of detail and accuracy in the recording.

This title has been long deleted and is therefore no longer available.

Originally recorded and released on the MARK LEVINSON record label in 1978.

This listing is for an out of print and very rare LP for Mark Levinson LP collectors (of which there were only a few titles issued). This is a much sought after LP recording -

CONDITION Details:

The GATE-FOLD LP jacket is in Near MINT minus condition. The jacket is tight and clean, with a small seam split on the top seam, about 1" long (the back part of the gate-fold, top seam only). It has light shelf wear at the corners and seams. In fantastic condition, especially given it's age. There are no tears or bends, but it does have a bit of discoloration on the inside of the gate fold, nothing serious.

The LP is in MINT minus condition! It retains most of the original gloss and sheen! The record has no serious marks on it, obviously well taken care of. NO spindle marks either. This is the near mint copy you have always wanted in your collection - any audiophile should be happy with this one!

A Short Note About LP GRADING -

  • Mint = Only used for sealed items.
  • Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way.
  • Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible.
  • Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise.
  • Very Good Plus = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.

For best results, always thoroughly clean your LPs before playing them.

The LP is an audiophile quality pressing (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).
